Meet your TEACHERS

  • Jessica Chacon (she/hers) E-RYT500, YACEP, IKYT

Jessica is a firm believer that yoga found her at one of the most vulnerable times in her life, saved her when she didn’t know she needed to be saved and that it is both her dharma and karma to provide yoga service(s) to others. While attending her very first yoga class in 2011, Jessica found herself in a tearful child’s pose in the first 30 mins of class. Jessica was unsure what was happening in that moment yet knew it was powerful and she must return.

In 2014, Jessica received her 200-hr. Hatha Yoga Certification from Frog Lotus Yoga International in Bali, Indonesia. In 2016, Jessica returned to her studies and received her Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Certification from Crestone Healing Arts Center. Since, Jessica has engaged in many continuing education studies and is currently enrolled in her 800-hr. Yoga Therapy Certification with Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. Jessica teaches a variety of styles from traditional asana to therapeutic yoga classes. Jessica plans to switch up her classes periodically for students to experience all she has to offer.

Jessica runs public and private workshops, trainings and retreats that focus on the fusion of mental health and yoga as well as EMDR Intensive Retreats to support clients with an integrative approach to their health and healing. In her spare time, you can find Jessica in solitude studying or reading books as well as adventuring in the outdoors via snowboarding, mountain biking or climbing with her beloved partner and sweet daughter.

  • Jean Alger, CYT200

Jean Alger has been practicing yoga on and off throughout her life, beginning when she was 14, and returning to yoga again in her 20s. She has practiced Ashtanga yoga and finds comfort and steadiness in the routine, but also enjoys exploring the playfulness of improvising flows. Asana and pranayama are both steadying practices in Jean’s life. She believes that any and all yoga is the right amount of yoga and that getting on the mat is the most important part. Yoga is for every person and every body.

  • Jesse Marchildon, QiGong Teacher

A native of the San Luis Valley, Jesse left to study Anthropology and Spanish Literature at CU Boulder, and then to travel the country studying Permaculture and Regenerative Farming. His study of other cultures gave him a keen interest in various spiritual practices, starting with Zen meditation, followed by Qigong, Sanskrit chanting, and various forms of Shamanic practice.

Jesse attended the Crestone Healing Arts Center for an intense tutelage under Dan Retuta, delving further into Qigong practice and integrating that into massage therapy.

  • Ellen Novotny, RYT 200

In March of 2020, when the world shut down, Ellen began her yoga teacher certification, not expecting a grounded and loving new world to open up for her.

In August of 2020 she completed her training with Yoga Hive Studios, which practices Kriya yoga, as taught by the Sattva Yoga Academy.

When Ellen attended her first yoga class, she thought yoga was only a physical practice of asanas. The day she first matched movement to breath was an ah-ha moment, connecting internal and external experiences in a profound way. Now a regular practice of breathwork and meditative mindful exercises, blended with mat work balances her world. Having thirty years of experience in the field of education, Ellen is particularly interested in exploring the neurological, mental health, and aging benefits of a variety of yogic practices.

Now Ellen shares the yoga journey with students of all ages and stages, learning and loving each day of this divine human experience.
